I wrote One Perfect Day a little while ago. I've been working on a series of short stories that explore relationships between women: any women, any relationship. I wrote feverishly for a couple of years but have recently slowed, adding perhaps one a year, when something triggers the synapses in my brain and I think "I must write that".
The woman in One Perfect Day has never been named, not even in my head. Neither have the other characters. They're simply women, anonymous but important. They're also flighty, silly, morose, scared, brave, friendly and accepting: all those things that any woman can be at any time.
One Perfect Day is about overcoming obstacles, whether those obstacles are concrete things to deal with, or learned behaviours that need to be unlearned.
